Making a Poseable Art Doll: Part 5

My dragon's paws are finally done sculpting.

I still need to finish the head though.  Then I can prime and sand prior to painting the details.  I should also start thinking what colors to use so I can find the fabric I need for his body and possibly dyes to add details.

  1. Have a think about fabric paints too if you don't fancy the mess of dyes. I haven't tried myself but I hear they have great results if used thinly.
Also you can get some lovely synthetic furs in great colours and two toned lengths that have a great effect when trimmed in interesting ways to expose the shorter hairs. And then there is the fun of combining furs to have a short pelt and mane :)

    1. I am not sure what I am going to do for the plush part. I know what to do to wrap the frame though. For the plush, I don't know what colors to do. Those colors will have to match the painting on the sculpted parts. I need to go to a local fabric shop to see what is available and pick something. Maybe white fur... Then I can dye and/or paint it. I am just glad my dragon has no wings to fuss with. I can experiment more on future attempts.
